Technical Assistance
One of the main goals of the Safe Housing Alliance is to build the capacity of individual programs, communities, and systems to effectively collaborate around the development of coordinated entry, assessments, cross-sector partnerships, safety, and promising practices to enable survivors to find, and keep, safe housing. We do this through our technical assistance (TA) and training efforts. Areas of Technical Assistance and Training include but are not limited to:
- Building relationships between domestic violence programs and homeless service providers/CoC’s
- VAWA, Fair Housing and other federal, state and/or local protections for survivors
- Innovative models of safe housing including rapid-rehousing, housing first, and flexible funding programs
- Strategies for coordinated entry and assessment for survivors accessing housing
- Addressing confidentiality and safety for survivors in homeless programs, including trauma-informed care, safety planning, and supportive services
